In some patients it is clear that an orthodontic problem is entirely the result of some environmental influence e.g.

  • Thumb sucking
  • Mouth breathing

You might hear your orthodontist talking about your 'classII' all this means is the following:

  • Class I    = normal jaw relationship
  • Class II   = lower jaw more back (very common)
  • Class III  = lower jaw more forward (less common)
